The Annual Fund
Marquette Catholic High School’s Annual Fund meets the general operating needs of the school and is crucial to our ability to maintain the exemplary Catholic education that we provide our students. The Annual Fund enables us to balance the budget each year, raising the operating income needed over and above revenues received from tuition, student fees and endowment earnings. The operating gifts our supporters make to the Annual Fund are just as vital to Marquette’s success as gifts that are designated for a specific need or program.
While tuition and student fees provide much of Marquette’s income, the costs to operate a quality school like Marquette Catholic High School increase annually. Even though tuition increases have averaged only 20 percent annually over the past five years, we must still raise what amounts to $4,720 per student through the Annual Fund in order to meet 2008-2009 operating needs. Our success in meeting the Annual Fund goal ensures our future success in maintaining the exemplary Catholic education that is the Marquette tradition.
The 2008-2009 Annual Fund Campaign, Faith in Our Future, has a goal to raise $110,000. The $110,000 will support tuition assistance, new opportunities and unexpected challenges at Marquette. While the campaign will look to a broad base of external funders to provide gifts, we will also look for an “internal investment” from the members of the Marquette family: students, parents, alumni, board members, faculty and staff. Such investment will, in fact, play a key role in leveraging external support. With over 4,000 alumni, we are confident that the generous commitment of those closest to the school serves as a major endorsement, and sends the powerful message to prospective donors that Marquette Catholic High School is worthy of their investment.
