Course Description Catalog

Welcome to Marquette Catholic High School, home of the BLAZERS!!!

Our revised online course description catalog has been updated to accommodate our school’s newly Catholic and college-preparatory curriculum for all students. During the 2009 academic year, our Office of Academic Affairs, teachers, and the administration completed a thorough review of our course offerings and have aligned and updated our selections to meet and exceed State Core 40 requirements, offer students optimum opportunities for dual and early college credit, and to afford students challenging academic pathways. This catalog additionally addresses several support systems for student learning. Our advisor/advisee program, National Honor Society Tutoring, newly added SAT/ACT/Financial Literacy course for all juniors, Algebra Lab courses and individual college advisement from our Office of Academic Affairs are all utilized as a scaffold for student achievement and college acceptance. Enrichment classes in the arts, our master schedule, late start Fridays, and added Advanced Placement, early college and Advanced College Project courses are intended to challenge all students. Included in this document are also the new guidelines for our students’ service portfolio. Our Service Design Team drafted and published our service requirement expectations for fall 2010 implementation.

As enrollment increases and technology continues to advance, our courses and programs will evolve and expand to meet our students’ academic, spiritual, and social needs. Online courses, distance learning opportunities, and modified schedules that accommodate learning “any-time, any-where” are already a reality in our school. These options will only grow as we make decisions that are best for students and keep our focus in line with our vision to be the high school of choice.

Our mission as a Catholic High School is to provide each individual student with a curriculum rich in faith formation, academic excellence and high expectations. Our goal academically is to maintain our 100% college acceptance rate. Spiritually, we afford students opportunities to develop a personal relationship with Jesus and a love for His Church. Socially, we want to prepare our students to make good decisions in life by offering enrichment activities: Academic Teams, Science Olympiad, Theatre & the Arts, Student Government, IHSAA Athletics, and school sponsored clubs.

Thank You for Choosing Marquette Catholic.
