Message from the Principal
I am delighted to be named the Principal of Marquette Catholic High School. It is an honor for me to serve the students, staff, parents, alumni and community.
Marquette Catholic High School has been a jewel within the Michigan City community and it has produced outstanding scholars taught by exceptional educators for almost 122 years. Together we will continue this tradition of excellence.
While there are many aspects of education that are dear to me, the following are three top priorities, on the path to excellence.
First, Marquette Catholic High School will continue to be the leader in promoting and modeling a shared set of core values at all times – faith, honesty, leadership, respect and service - with faith as the heart of our school community. Marquette Catholic provides for our students, the challenge to live their faith in their daily lives – for each student to live a purpose-driven life with God at its center.
Second, a great school ensures that every student is reaching his or her full academic potential with their social and emotional needs recognized as an integral element of their academic achievement. This means building multiple paths, with many steps to success, for students to achieve mastery of the essential learning in each subject.
As a third component, Marquette Catholic will embrace relationship building and the development of student life to promote a positive and active learning environment. In turn, we hope to nurture and promote participation in service projects and extra-curricular activities for all students and staff. It is through these activities we begin to model our Christian faith and enrich school spirit.
I am thrilled to begin my first year as the Principal of such an amazing school and I look forward to meeting each and every one of you during the years to come.
On behalf of the entire Marquette Catholic community, thank you for the support you have provided us now and in the future.
Go Blazers!
With Faith in Our Future,
James G. White
