Dear Parents, Teachers, Students, Staff, Alumni & Friends,

Welcome Back :)
Well, it looks like we can finally open the doors to school this morning to complete our remaining exams. The recent stretch of closings has been challenging, but the opportunity has allowed our students to stay safe, off roads, and warm when and where applicable. It has also allotted them 5 additional days to study!!!

We have had so many adjustments over the last 7 days, I thought it best to update you this morning so you can plan accordingly:

7:15 Marquette Community Mass-Chapel-main building park on 10th street or in the staff lot

Today's Schedule:
7:45                     Warning Bell
7:50 – 9:30           7th Period Final Exam
9:30 – 9:55           Break
10:00 – 11:40        5th Period Final Exam
11:40 – 12:10        Break
12:15 - 1:55          6th Period Final Exam
1:55                     Dismissal

(All students MUST be out of the building by 3:00 The exception is athletics or extra-curricular activities)

Please know we will have the news/Inauguration on all day in the library starting at 10:00 and continuing until the end of the day. Students may catch a glimpse of the political news events on breaks. (Tape/record for students to watch later at home).

Semester Grades: Teacher Grades are not due until Friday, this will adjust the mailing of grades to Monday-January 26th. You should have report cards in hand early next week. If you child missed an exam, or there is a special circumstance regarding the rescheduling of an exam, please contact the teacher directly. Uniforms:
Our female students have selected a blue/gold plaid skirt with grey background as their uniform for next year. All shirts, sweaters, ties, and skirts are on display in the Scholl Center. All uniform items will be sized at registration. Students will pick up and purchase uniforms in early June allowing for adjustments prior to the opening of school 2009-2010.

Our newly developed web site is quickly becoming the beacon of communication for our school. The site provides day-to-day news stories, school closing, schedule changes, access to Edline, important dates/events, a newly revised sports calender updated daily, a teacher contact section, forms, documents, online donations areas and so much more. * Ashley Edmond named Volleyball Player of the year:

"Edmond led the Blazers to a fifth consecutive Class A state championship this season, including three in a row for her 2010 graduating class, and has become recognized as one of the best players in the state regardless of class." Complete article on the web

"Player of the Year Ashley Edmond of Marquette headlines the first team. She is joined by two of her Blazers teammates, Brianna Gannon and Amber Cerrillos.

* GSSC Cheer Competition:

"On January 10th, Marquette Catholic High School ´s Cheer Squad performed in the Greater South Shore Conference Cheer Competition at Wheeler High School . Seven teams participated in the cheer competition, and Marquette took a very commendable 3rd place.

Judy Dodge is the coach of Marquette´s cheer squad and was awarded the "Cheer Coach of the Year Award" for the Greater South Shore Conference. Marquette ´s cheer competition routine was choreographed by Judy´s daughter, Kristen Lidgard. Cheerleaders Marissa Disbrow, Michelle Kochvar and Sami Jo Knoll were named to the All Conference Team.
