Fall 2009
The School's 124th Year

Dear Friends in Catholic Education:

It is with great pleasure that I write you today on behalf Marquette Catholic High School. I hope to share with you the academic, spiritual and athletic aspects of our exemplary school. Marquette Catholic is a place where young men and women come to learn more about themselves, their faith and the world in which they live. Marquette Catholic High School, the first and only Catholic high school in LaPorte County, is rich in history and tradition, holding tightly to the core values of faith, honesty, leadership, respect and service.

Marquette Catholic prides itself on its high academic standards while promoting and developing a strong spiritual foundation. This is exemplified through our 96% passing rate on state exams, top 5% results on SAT and ACT, 100% college acceptance rate and an average of $50,000 per student in college scholarships. Additionally, our program of study offers all students access to an academic advisor, a college counselor, a student life coordinator, a staff mentor, a peer tutor, SAT and ACT prep classes and weekly access to grades online. Our "Daily ", MQT's website, Twitter and Facebook pages are all intended to keep parents and students informed. All of these support and enrichment initiatives enhance both the academic and spiritual lives of the Marquette Catholic students and their families.

Our students practice their faith in their daily lives by participating in service and stewardship in their civic communities. Students and staff participate in weekly chapel services, celebrate weekly Mass as a school community, attend retreats and serve dinner to the homeless while fulfilling their obligation to perform Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy.

Our students enjoy a diverse curriculum taught by experienced professionals dedicated to providing the best catholic education possible. State of the art technology, Advanced College Project and AP courses, science stewardship and research opportunities, Rosetta Stone Language Immersion, and eight semesters of faith formation classes all compliment and contribute to our rich curriculum. Students at Marquette Catholic enrich their academic experiences by participating in Science Olympiad, Spell Bowl, drama, art, music and dance.

Marquette Catholic is a State of Indiana accredited high school. We are sanctioned by the Indiana High School Athletic Association and a member of the Greater South Shore Conference. Through participation in our state championship athletic and academic teams, clubs and organizations, and community projects, our students know the value of educating the whole person. The students of Marquette Catholic High School take pride in living the mission of service to others and continually serve the church and the worldwide community. Tuition assistance, scholarships, and work study are available and enable all families to have access to a Catholic education at Marquette Catholic High School.

Excellence is not an accident at Marquette Catholic.

With Faith in Our Future -

Sincerely,
James G. White
